First, let me say thank you for helping me be able to go and serve the people of Senegal. The need was great. I have been to several countries serving on medical missions trips. I am familiar with the poverty I see on these trips. With that said, I can tell you that by far this was the most impoverished place that I have ever served or seen. The conditions were hard not only physically but mentally and spiritually as well. It was extremely hot and very humid, more than I can ever remember on any other trip, though it is usually hot and humid on these trips this was in the extreme. My heart greatly hurt for the people of St Louis Senegal and at the same time I was so thankful to be able to help bring hope through sharing the love of Jesus. I am forever thankful to have been born in the United States. It is very humbling to get the privilege to serve and provide care to these people. The smiles and thankful hearts bring such joy to me and I am forever grateful that I have been blessed not only with the ability to go and serve but also to be able to come home to a place of such abundance. Attached are some photos of the clinic, people and surroundings where we served.
Thank you again,
Deborah Roy, PNP
