This trip to St Louis Senegal was one of the hardest medical mission trips I have ever done. The field there really pushed the entire team physically, mentally, and spiritually.

The daily temperatures were 90-100 degrees with 90% humidity. Many team members struggled with health issues related to the heat and environment.

The poverty was unmatched to what I have seen around the world in my travels. The desperation for basic daily needs of food, water and shelter was everywhere I looked. If the people were forced to make a choice between food or healthcare needs, food was always going to be first.

The spiritual needs were so great! 97% of Senegalese practice Islam mixed with Animism which is steeped in spiritualism and superstition. The multitude of needs and desperation was overwhelming, BUT GOD....

For nearly all of the 1600 people that sought care in the medical or optical clinics, it was their first time hearing the name of Jesus and meeting a Christian.

I tried to soak in all the sights, sounds, smells, smiles and hugs and desperately wanted the people to see Jesus in me. Our team of 40+ with Medical Missions Outreach opened the door for Christianity and evangelism to this small fishing community in St Louis, Senegal for the National Pastor, Malik and the missionaries Josh and Julie Mead.

Truly the field is white for harvest we planted and watered for Jesus in 6 days of clinic!

Thank you Upward Twist. You had a part!
